One of the things I’m most enjoying about book tour is the chance to have conversations with people who study very different things from me. They always bring to the reading of my work their own perspective, vantage point, vocational lens. This conversation with Robert P. Jones was no exception. We dug into some of the deep currents I have tried to explore in recent years, and we ended up in a passionate discussion of how some parts of America cast other parts, and my own view.
Jones’ latest book, BACKSLIDE, is a powerful investigation of how so many in evangelical communities willfully capitulated to Donald Trump — and why.
