Do your friends tell you the truth? It’s a hard thing to do. I’ve been lucky enough to have a few who have over the years. And in this conversation on Monica Lewinsky‘s podcast, I tell the story of my writing journey over the last decade-plus, how I went from one way of working to another without ever fully choosing it, and how a powerful and knowing intervention by my friend Sam changed the course of my life.
I’ve shared a bit about this before, but in this conversation with my friend Monica, a lot more came out of me. I think a lot of people will relate to what has happened to all of our brains living in this era in which moral clarity and ferocity feel important, but are also bad for our thinking spirits.
