I am concerned about the sign saying that burning a Tesla will help democracy. Burning Tesla has no impact on Elon Musk and a lot of impact on the environment and your neighbor. Some people, like me, bought one long before it was clear how dangerous Musk is because we are environmentally conscious. I drive cars 10-15 years before I get a new one and other than using a supercharger when traveling long distances (which is seldom since the range has decreased by over 30% in the 6.5 years I have had mine), Tesla will not get a penny from me.

Susan Collins is concerned

Trying to figure out what that means in this context. I appreciate that Senator Collins is concerned About Elon. Is she also concerned about burning a car to protest against Elon, too? That was the point of my comment, I will protest Tesla, just not burn a car because that does nothing to Tesla and harms the environment.

Agreed. I hadn’t noticed the detail of that sign. We deleted the photo. That’s definitely not the point of this larger idea.

Thank you. Good trouble is what we need, not stupid actions.

I'm all in favor.

How does this actually sink Tesla/Musk? He makes 8 million + per day on his govt. contracts. We need to get him out of our government and to encourage fair trade within our governmental budget!

I already refuse to support Elon financially in anything he's involved with, but the Govt. Contracts are where we hurt him.

What we gave him in the first place - he prospered due to the bail out of the car industry by Obama, who set aside money for EV's – we should be able to take away. Fundamentally, American made Elon what he is, and now he's trying to destroy the country.

I agree with you that it’s the government contracts that provide Musk his enormous wealth. Tesla is so strongly equated with Musk that an economic take-down against it would be a significant win in the fight to stop Musk. Also, protesting against Tesla doesn’t preclude protesting even more against the defense contracts he has and receives. His companies are so embedded in our defense system it’s alarming.

That’s true. I tend to forget that small bites at a time is good strategy. I want him eliminated…. Yesterday! 🤨
