Kamala is right. Real men do not turn the future of their families over to dictators and facists who are only out for themselves. Real men start a šŸšŒ business so their off spring can control their own generational wealth.

DO NOT TRUST THE OLIGARCHS WITH YOUR FAMILIES !!!!šŸ™

Any time you say ā€œfascismā€, please define the term. Many people do not know what it means. Too many Americans have some vague notion that it means government run by a ā€œstrong manā€. Fascism is when a government serves the needs of the wealthy & big businesses rather than its average citizens.

I this take made realize the truth. Trump was abused and shamed and shamed and abused and his mother may have told him it was ā€œall OK now, go back and play with your brothersā€. But all he could do was shame and abuse his brothers the way he was always shamed and abused. You can hear this in his voice and in the way he tells his people ā€œ itā€™ s all OK.ā€ He croons and yells. He makes them feel the abuse they always live with, being on the done side of everything. His whole shtick is SHAME. AND IT APPEALS! Think about it! GO AFTER IT! NOW!

I share your goal of mobilizing supporters to vote and inspiring undecided voters to cast their ballots. As a former state official, I continue to volunteer to help with both efforts. I also have friends who will never vote for a Democrat, but that doesnā€™t make them fascists. Thereā€™s a real danger, akin to Hillary Clintonā€™s ā€œdeplorablesā€ comment, in labeling people this way. Anand, please reconsider: undecided voters or third-party supporters donā€™t see themselves as fascists. Equating Trump voters with fascists risks alienating many who simply disagree with Democrats. Likewise, MAGA supporters point to Biden as authoritarian, accusing him of arresting opponents or overusing executive orders. We must be mindful of our language, especially as we approach the election. And if, as we hope, President Harris takes office, it will be even more critical to govern inclusively, representing the entire country. I can predict people will counter with 'that is not what Anand" meant; I agree that is not his intent.

Politics is perception; my undecided and anti-Harris friends could be turned off by over-use of fascism, in a similar way that Hillary's words (deplorables) came to haunt her.

Country over party; their purity over politics is totally irrelevant. Of course their feelings are valid. Trump is not really a politician much less a Republican. That party was hijacked decades ago. Allow them the dignity of an argument. Donā€™t waste time if there is nothing to work with.

I agree with the comment that suggesting men are buying into fascism is not fair and in my opinion missing the point. I think men aren't identifying Trump as a fascist but rather a wealthy American businessman (I won't say successful because he inherited much of his wealth). I think one of the most telling comments by General Kelly was that he said (I'm paraphrasing) Trump wanted to run his presidency like he did his businesses.....giving orders, having loyal employees follow them without question, and not worry about legalities. In fact, how close is American supply-side capitalism to fascism? Isn't not wanting regulations the same as not wanting checks and balances? I think men feeling left behind are watching American CEO's not follow "the rules" we were all taught we should do, give highest priority to the bottom line not the "common good," and get away with it most of the time.

I think men have lost faith in Democrat's policy initiatives because they see they have only gone so far. When new government programs and money are announced to help with things like tuition assistance, affordable housing, etc. too often, in my opinion, bad actors "game the system" to line their own pockets instead of benefitting the intended recipients. But that's where I think the Harris-Walz ticket is taking a new approach such as in their proposal to investigate price gouging by businesses. Inflation is the measure of businesses increasing prices to consumers. So it only makes sense that the government ensure consumers understand why prices have increased, investigate the reasons, and prosecute if necessary. This isn't over regulation; it's simply good business. What business wouldn't investigate price increases from its suppliers that will effect its customers?

This new approach means our government won't simply announce new programs and related funding; it will ensure the intended beneficiaries -- men and their families -- stop feeing left behind.

I wonder how much is generational and/or varies by class. The young men I know, some of whom just became old enough to vote in this election, are not so insecure they need a dictator to help them feel secure. I wonder if there is a class element as well (see writing on white men without college degrees)

Absolutely excellent. Exactly the words and framing I've needed in many conversations with men and those undecided. Thank you Anand.
