What concerns me is that Elon actually accomplished what he intended to, he has left many of his minions in place and they are collecting and collating privacy data on US citizens, or already have.

Trump got in bed with someone who is quite possibly a more reprehensible human being than he is, and he seems to be afraid to alienate Elon now that he has supposedly turned on him. And of course, at the end of the day we the people are the biggest losers.

Rebecca, I agree. Elon’s people have infiltrated & become the government. They are loyal to Elon. Not 47. So we have the coup of Elon, and also the rise of 47 as being a dictator. Two separate, living & growing entities.

And it always comes down to what are we going to do about it. I’m afraid we are going to wait and talk about it and wait and talk about it and wait until it’s too late. If we had 5 million subscribers, what would we do?

Found by googling it and I got this. I had heard of it

“But never underestimate the American bourgeoisie’s capacity to embrace fascism under the name of populism. Or the power of television.

Stephen King, 11/22/63”

Musk needs to pay for his crimes against humanity and his associates must be prosecuted for our data’s theft and misuse before we are subjugated

Why are we tacking into the “winds” of a ketamine infused bigot? He had his Icarus moment. Now we need put on our foulies and provide sageful advice to our successors.

These comments may be a bit off point, but in my view they speak broadly to a problem that underlies much of today's political turmoil. I am sick to death of the sloppy thinking that routinely conflates issues--profoundly stupidly and dangerously.

To be a Zionist or Jewish does not necessarily require or result in agreement with the policies of Israel as a State. To be Pro-Palestinean does not necessarily require or result in agreement with Hamas (note that many Palestinians weren't even alive to vote for Hamas, which happened many years ago) or with being Anti-Semitic. This lack of nuance displayed by so many only serves to fuel hatred and misunderstanding.

My parents survived Nazi Germany and immigrated to the US. As a small child they warned me how precious democracy is, and that we must remain ever-vigilant to assure that we don't fall into autocracy, as did Germany. They explained how the capitulation of elected officials and big business (among other things) resulted in Hitler coming to power via democratic means. They used these facts as a cautionary tale. No, most Germans did not foresee the horrifying concentration and death camps that ultimately followed from the capitulation of so many. Why is it that today no one (except maybe Al Gore and Gov. Pritzker) has the guts to remind (or educate) us about the very parallel developments we are experiencing today? Why are these comparisons labeled as somehow negating the horrors that Jews experienced? Why, when we have already witnessed concentration camps in El Salvador where people have been sent without due process, are we unable to draw the very clear line between Germany's loss of its democracy, and the very perilous position we in the US face on the road to losing our democracy?

Re:Mr. Musk. Elon took his marbles and went home. I think we’d be losing ours to think of even trying to make an ally of him for our “side”. Different set of goals, values, and a Jiminy Cricket conscience required.
