VERY interesting dialogue. Ro K is a super articulate spokesperson with very sound ideas. Thank you for having him as a guest, and thank YOU, Anand, for your superb interviewing skills. You talk just enough but not TOO much, which I really appreciate!
Good discussion. Ro is correct. The Dems need to GO to the swing states in the Midwest and actually LISTEN to the people. Don't tell the people what they should consider the most important. (eg. Trump Bad, Harris Good) Talk about their lifestyle and their fears and worries. Don't pigeon-hole them with folks on either Coast, or big urban areas because it isn't the same. Don't boast about all the good things the Dems USED to do, talk about what they can and will do. Many Midwesterners feel that neither party really cares what the middle of the country needs, they only care during election time. Then we see politicians tripping over each other to get to our parades, our festivals and fairs. It seems pretty insincere.
I also think the corporate wing of the Democratic Party has let people down by not enacting Medicare for all, student loan forgiveness, Women’s reproductive freedom and union rights
Wow, thank you so much for making that available- One of the more incredibly substantive discussions anywhere on such a range of critical topics- I loved the thoughtful questions and the really thoughtfully reasoned answers- thank you, thank you, thank you!
If Dems want to get away from reliance on polls and focus groups why not take the giant step: Expand the number of Congressional districts; reduce the size of districts so representatives can have a direct, personal relationship with their constituents, not just their donors.
More Representatives means less time spent on committee work; smaller districts means less time spent on raising money. Representatives can use the time saved and spend it with us.
Dems are often seen as remote and disconnected. Solve the problem by offering to share governance with the people of their districts. Sharing would help us all be better citizens and our representatives one of us.
What violence are you even talking about when you accuse the left of fomenting violence? i have heard nothing. I feel like I missed something, but see no evidence of the left whipping up violence.
If we have widespread civil violence break out this time, it could be arguably worse than The Civil War precisely because the states are much more mixed now. We can't forget about Alligator Alcatraz and the plan to open perhaps multiple places like that in every state. In my case, they would probably go for a place close to the Tennessee line and use the mountain terrain to keep the so called prisoners in and any objectors out. So what does the opposition do, just let it happen? How many people locked up in places like that is okay? One, a dozen, a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand? I don't have the answer, but I do have the belief that this could be in our future if this regime is not stopped.
This was so so good. First time for me listening to Ro Khanna. He is very respectful and thus, truly respectable. And Anand, your questions are always so fascinating. 🙏🏼💕🕊
Very good info, and I will highlight the “Democratic vision>” To me, this is why the Democrats lost the election - Trump was saying what he was going to do, even if you didn’t agree. Harris/Democrats were not giving answers to what their vision was.
Remember, Trump, for me, beginning with the overthrow of Roe vs. Wade, that states should make their own decisions. So, with the COVID alliances, e.g., state “control” is happening. This is a fantastic podcast.

Terrific interview. Thank you for the hard work.
Ro Khanna is a great American, one of the rising next generation who will lead the country to a more successful and secure democracy.
Wonderful discussion. The thought entered my head is how does Canada make it work for them.
Great interview
Here’s how Dem politeness & civility & taking the high road is getting us nowhere

This is an economic fight, hidden and obscured by culture.
What about January 6th?
Melissa Hortman?..
Love you both - keep talking!
