Here is my perspective:

(1) Howl to our congressional reps and tell them to lean on republicans that may still have a shred of decency

(2) Cheats are so rampant that one is tempted to join ranks (not pay taxes). Thank goodness for the New Media and to aggressive congress reps (those who are) for bringing so much to light and standing for fact.

(3) Then we continue to get screwed by the SCOTUS - which is not atypical (see Plessy, Dred Scott, Dobbs, etc).

(4) Get on our knees and pray - maybe the world is so horrified by the US that they are snapping awake.

(5) Pope Leo - ugh. Another white pope kissing the ring of the wealthy. First he says that marriage is between a man and a woman, and then he meets with Vance and Rubio. Not Francis. Toss the rosary beads out the window.

(6) Like Donna Summers they will survive. Changing of the guard but still will bring in the cash. There are not a lot of options in US health care - they pretty much all suck.

(7) Elon was in mid East w Trump and other big tech bros. He got what he needed from DOGE (data) and is on to make billions from AI. The BBB (big beautiful bill) includes prohibiting states from putting controls on AI.

(8) Heroes live among us in the form of "federal government bureaucrats". See Library of Congress.

(9) The states are our only hope right now.

(10) Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. China is playing it smart - they know the snake when they see it. I do not trust the US - do you??

Speaking of separation of powers, WHAT powers do citizens never pass over to our elected political representatives when they are elected?

When 41 US Senators can block all legislation, except budget reconciliation, even if ALL 494 other Congressional representatives with our power, taxes and permissions vote to PASS it-is THAT self-rule, fair representation, rule by the majority, even Constitutional since that 41 vote filibuster rules is a Senate creation.

Why has it never been challenged as un-Constitutional-especially since they took away the requirement to filibuster for hours on the floor.

Senators never have to reveal their true use of our power with floor votes so We the People never truly know where they stand on an issue. They can spin their profile anyway they want come election time.

KILL the FILIBUSTER and figure out another way to govern-never by minority vote to make life easier for Senators!

We pay taxes for this 535 elected person body to govern by majority rule and to rule for We the People not for a particular party, person, to give power, wealth to certain, small segments of society by denying life-saving benefits and power to millions. We allow many to lie, spread propaganda, grift, self-enrich without any legal check and balance from Judicial, Executive Branch.

The Branches are now in a symbiotic relationship and are engaged in trying to survive wealthy, powerful groups in USA and foreign dictatorships trying to destroy a 250 year-old democratic republic.

Question for Paul: I am confused about tariffs. Let's just say (or pretend) that manufacturing facilities are built in the US at a rate that miraculously supplies everything that we had previously imported from China et al, wouldn't U.S. wages need to plummet in order to keep prices of all those domestically manufactured goods on par with what they would have cost had they been imported? Just this one detail alone seems important to highlight. Or, am I missing something. Like, just like the Clearances in Scotland in which people who worked the land owned by the wealthy were kicked off as it was more profitable to replace them with sheep/livestock. That's why my Scottish ancestors made their way, eventually, to the US. Is AI going to be the new "Clearances?"

Hopefully, Paul or one of his staff can answer this for you. Meanwhile ===

I have no idea what gov't documents have to be provided, but that's in both countries, of course.

Then it depends on the cost of shipping; from manufacturing country to container to ship, from harbor to harbor, to warehouse, train or truck to distribution center and then to wherever the company is that will put them on their shelves

Will that be less than the difference in wages?
