I don't think it's useful to speculate. And we especially need to be careful not to allow what we *want* to happen to bias our assessment of what might happen. We need to prepare for a range of possible outcomes, whether some of those outcomes are just or not.

I think Mr. Trump's time is up. He will be convicted in New York and the constant drum beat of bad legal news and the distraction of attending trials and hearings weakens him as a candidate. He will not win election, but he may lead another insurrection.

I think the tide has already turned after Trump's losses in the Trump Org. tax fraud case (even though he wasn't charged), both of the E. Jean Carroll cases, and the NY business fraud case. Even though he's delayed the other cases, he hasn't been able to stop them and now there's also the AZ case (even though he's an unindicted co-conspirator). Assuming the evidence is as convincing as has been publicly available, I think Trump will be convicted. I think we're with the snowball at the top of the hill but it's rolling downhill, gaining speed and mass.

I feel the tide has sifted, especially as "ground zero" of fake news is being revealed and Biden's perseverance in winning cooperation from Mike Johnson to finally fund our allies is bearing fruit. There is another way forward. I'm sure dark schemes lurk in the depths of AI and the tsunamis of billionaires, but let's keep our heads above water, watching out for one another, with our eyes on hope.
