Need to flip the script. Billionaires and corporations always expect handouts to the detriment of the people by way of tax cuts, they are the true “welfare queens”.

It's like this. You know how a schizophrenic sometimes pushes someone onto the subway tracks for no reason? That's what Republicans are doing to America.

Just watched and am intrigued by his uncanny ability describing the cruelty of Trumps financial agenda. It is sickening to think that good human beings will die and the filthy rich will get richer.

We are talking about our neighbors employers who don’t offer healthcare or pay decent wages.

Most Americans just don’t get the fact that we are a Nation of the working poor!

These cuts will be devastating to working men and women and their children. Especially their children! The sick part is that Trumps base will be devastated by these cuts as well.

We can’t allow this to happen to anyone!!!We have to fight back for even the ignorant. Our children deserve better!!!

It’s not about Democrat or Republican anymore. It’s about Right and Wrong. 💪❤️

Just wanted to leave some feedback after listening to the interview, and reading Krugman’s article first thing this morning.

One hour listening to this was *well* worth my long lunch hour time.

Why? Not quite sure i can point to the what. A couple interesting factlettes emerged, smart back-forth easy conversation on really broad-ranging, but related topics.

I think Krugman a gem, so always interested in hearing what he’s thinking about, how he justifies a viewpoint and learning from him. But Anand is (usually) a great interviewer, smart, pushing the discussion to new places, but allowing the interviewee space to explain their views. (Usually. Though senator interview yesterday(?) wasnt a good example).

I sort of understand the “too many substacks” problem, but heck, its such a great problem to have! Amazing writers, reporters, thoughtful, knowledgeable folks. I now cant really keep up, and do have some faves, but sampling is just fine, unless youre obsessive about needing to keep up with all for some reason.

Listening to this for the 2.5th time. (Caught the live halfway.) I have so many thoughts but I will focus on his NYT experience.

What kind of cojones does it take as an editor to in essence tell a Noble prize winner that his language is too clear and evocative. Let's sand it down so it's boring and doesn't get any attention.

I'm so afraid of losing Social Security and Medicare. I'm retired and I worked all my life for these small bits of retirement ease.

Always enlightening to listen to Paul Krugman. And I appreciate that Anand frequently asks his guests to explain a point or elaborate - very helpful for the listeners.

This was a wonderful conversation. Thank for this antidote to the madness. One name came to mind when you were talking about the systematic lack of empathy, Ayn Rand. It would be interesting to know how many people in this administration and Congress are Ayn Rand followers.

I recommend you interview Dr. Stephanie Kelton to truly understand how our economy works. FFOTUS is destroying our national power through his declared tariff war on the world. Dr. K will layout the power of sovereign fiat currency so you realize we, American citizens, possess that power.

It is Mental Health Awareness Month and I think it’s time for all mainstream news media to say out loud that POTUS is addicted to power and greed.

I want to know the political scientists he listens to. We need a "regular guy" on the outside and he can be as progressive as he wants to be with his policies.

Time to recruit some progressive regular guys Dems.
