Be a listener. So few people actually listen to or affect interest in others. Don't be trapped by your own agenda. There's more to life than what's inside your own head.
The interview was one of my favorite from The Ink.
It was AMAZING. Thank you for sharing this book, introducing me to this author, and most of all for this considered offering that urges us to try to step out of this exact moment in order to understand what our best response should actually be to this moment.
And yes, I need to "be reading" more, starting with How to Be a Dissident—because we must never forget the importance of foreplay.
Anand, I love how you let your interviewees talk at length and you don’t need to show off what you know- you let us hear from this wonderful writer and analyzer of dissidence. Thank you. You also highlight what he is saying really well while, as I said, letting him explain what he is thinking and understanding.
Well I now have a new way to introduce myself, "Hi, I'm a dissident. Who are you?" All of these character traits taken together describe me exactly. I can confirm that it can be a very lonely existence at times.
What a pleasure to hear about this important book and what an opportunity to hear its author's analysis of being a dissident. His explanation resonates with this listener/reader. Also, I again thank Anand for both his deep listening and his always intelligent questions in these very worthwhile interviews.
I just want to add one more thing. I am so impressed with Gal. He obviously thinks very deeply about all sorts of issues, and that's so welcome. I noticed that he has several books out and I'd like to get all of them. What a wonderful guest! And of course your questions are always so thoughtful, Anand. Thank you for a great conversation.
Support Art in all its forms….it seems to me

Be joyful as an act of resistance

Be loving
Another wonderful interview. Thanks so much.
(Reading is critical. So many people uninformed and misinformed.)
So much fluidity in dissidence! And lots of oxygen pockets in this list. So glad I caught this Live. Thank you both!

Anand, Don't forget... Be immortal!!
Loved Gal's perspective on that... to understand ourselves in a selfless way, and take the long view.
Be willing to be wrong.
