I’ve been thinking alot about this close election, where in so many ways we can feel that Harris is ahead: her plans, her love of country, her respect for the people, her energy, both uplifting and fierce. It boggles the mind that she’s not running away with it- it strains our senses and makes us question our instincts. It is crazy-making!! But we have to open our eyes and see the obstacle course she’s running on vs the path that has been engineered for Trump. He’s in a golden toilet golf cart with Putin-Musk shock troops clearing the way on a road that’s been paved and smoothed for decades with the lies, racism, sexism, exploitation, and dark strategy of systemic narcissism and pathology so normalized we don’t even recognize it. Her obstacles run the gamut of unfairness- from the baseline remnants of class warfare called the electoral college to yesterday’s oligarch-dominated WaPo non endorsement. We have to see and say this truth. We have to be proud of the strength it takes to show up and fight on this field of inequality without complaint or excuses. It will be a testament to this country’s true resolve when the votes are counted.
Harris needs to say something about Gaza that will allow the many horrified by Israel's attack to vote for her. There's such a contradiction between her radiant campaign and the pictures on the news every day of dead children, streets turned to rubble. That's more important than these small tweaks to her messaging.
All good points but almost as if she knows them, knows better. Like she’s got one hand tied behind her back. Or lacks the courage we hoped she had…Between the limited reference to climate, the excess focus on immigration, the headlines about Liz Cheney helping on the campaign trail, and yes the Glock— while the devastating and expanding war in the Middle East rages on screens everywhere, her “stand against tyranny!” has a yawning hole in it. Please let this election season nightmare be over with the least violence and best outcome possible (Pres Harris).
Heads up! Perception: Conservative neighbor said "the world is very dangerous and rough right now, wars, fires, storms, homeless; we need a strong leader. Trump is strong but sometimes wrong; Harris is weak and sometimes right. I go with strong." I said Harris was strong DA and prosecutor, tough." He said, "oh, come on, she acts like a little girl half the time." "You mean tough like Liz Cheney?" " well...she is tough, but often wrong. We need a tough strong man, right or wrong, right now. And Trump is the best we got right now."
With Anat's sage advice in mind, I clearly see Trump's selling winner/winning team...even based on lies and whimsy... and Harris framing as underdog and don't want to lose. Just got another text from Harris campaign, and the framingis essentially a guilt plea : don't let us lose this, donate so we don't lose. It made me feel guilty or bad or like I'll be the cause of the loss if I don't jump on it. Crap! I support Harris, but this stuff is precisely the opposite of what Anat advises precisely because it is fear and guilt provoking rather that HEY! JOIN OUR WINNING TEAM!! BE A PART OF OUR TEAM! LETS WIN!! YAY!
Once you see the difference in the attitude of winning vs. not losing, it hits you over the head. It decides everything. Kamala needs to understand it!!! I just hope they are being told this!!!
Anat makes sense. A shift in the style and setting of the ads will grab attention. Many voters, I hope most, care about seniors and disabled people, who represent the future for nearly everyone alive. I would love to see an ad in a setting that many younger voters care about, our polluted world.

In previous post “decides” should have been “decodes.”
