I’d love to have some practical ways to let people know they’re being conned if it’s not by facts. And I can’t imagine people responding any more positively to the argument that they’ve been conned than they do to the argument that they have their fact wrong. So give me something to work with here.

Yes I loved this part of the conversation, and would also appreciate a practical discussion about how to implement the idea. Is it by asking questions? When and where appropriate to discuss such topics.

Many years in recovery has shown me that despair is what we wish for those caught in a hopelessly destructive mindset. Absolute despair is what brings people together looking for help.

In all the ink-spilling about Trump’s initial antics, I’m left wondering: What is happening to deal with the debt limit? The press is stuck in a reaction loop - what about the necessary and immediate requirements of the government, and the stories of the impact his ineffectiveness and incompetence is having on everyday people? (And how that grows the longer it continues)
