What a level head she has. These Socialist Democrats millennials are so impressive to me.

She’s so right that if people NEED an opposition party or they will disengage. Clyburns announcement today has really demoralized me. I usually make calls for Dems (there is always a special election) and today couldnt bring myself to do anything. I’m both furious and deflated.

I think that old Dems like Clyburn and others are afraid. They believe they are needed in order not to lose- that the younger generation do not know enough of the extremely complex workings and shenanigans of D.C. In fact, a younger generation can learn very fast and can perhaps more clearly see the shenanigans for what they are and change the rules of the game.

As the parent of millenials, so glad to see Claire running for office. I wish her the best. We desperately need younger people with a fresher perspective in positions of power.

As for Mr. Clyburne, while I love him dearly and respect his many accomplishments, he absolutely should NOT run for reelection. We need both term and age limits to run for any public office.

Part of the wisdom of aging is knowing when to turn over the reins of authority and step into the equally important support role.

Clyburne: hubristic greed. Time to step back. DSA is legit-the time is NOW (and has been needed for decades).

Thanks for having Claire on. I think everyone running need to level set on the absolute requirement that we be planning serious government reform. No one person should be able to declare war and begin dropping bombs. No one should be able to build their own militia and set them on the country with no rules. The supreme court should have ethics rules that they must be held accountable to. etc. etc. I think it is a much more important plan to have and publicize than having a plan to put Trump and his cabinet in jail. I'd like for them to be held accountable but we first need to make sure this never happens again and we need to stop the spending and begin to tax everyone fairly very very quickly. At the same time the courts can be dealing with lawlessness and corruption of this administration. (Yes that means a strong Attorney General that can rebuild the the Justice Dept.)

Refreshing to hear from a Democratic politician who demonstrates a practical understanding of the working class. Her optimism is contagious.

Young people like Claire give me hope, even though I live in Maine. I take issue with the statement that Dems didn't attempt to meet the needs of "ordinary" Americans though. And I am very critical of establishment Dems (I'm a Graham Planner advocate) The Biden Administration did, or attempted to do, more for average Americans........Build Back Better, preserving CFPB, attempting to help with student debt, proposal related to a "care economy" that was rejected by Republicans etc. There have been millions more jobs created under recent Dem presidents than Republican presidents. The Dems failed miserably to MESSAGE, but we need to stop saying they aren't on the side of average people.
