Mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani on making New York livable again, balancing safety and justice, Cuomo after #MeToo, AOC in 2028, how he would fight ICE raids, and whether he will rap again
Such an inspiring and hopeful and real conversation! We need more of this energy and truth telling and creative problem solving. Thanks as always Anand for facilitating and being in such good conversations and for bringing important people and issues into our sight lines!

I’m a idea person Question person -sometimes people don’t like it 🥹😌
I'll say it over- and- over: the Democrats need to go back & embrace the totality of Build Back Better..all those parts Manchin forced out..that is what this candidate is talking about, and that Americans want and need.
Wonderful breath of fresh air! New Yorkers, please, please, PLEASE do not vote for Andrew Cuomo. I worked in State government when he was AG and then governor. He is arrogant in the extreme, a smarter and more vindictive version of Donald Trump. His documented misogyny speaks for itself but he cares nothing for anyone aside from those who are loyal to him. Mr. Mamdani appears to truly care for the city and it's residents and is willing and able to take on the billionaires who are plaguing our society and your city. He is exactly what the city needs to get through this current national crisis.
Love hearing this articulation of what New Yorkers really need. Cuomo stinks. Go Zohran Go! As an immigration activist, I appreciate that he challenged Border Czar Homan. NYC has been a magnet for asylum seekers since its founding. Sanctuary City YES!! Defend it.
Columbia has a $14billion endowment. They could have easily told Trump/Musk, fine, we’ll go without those federal funds and we will do what we believe is best for our university and its community. We are a private entity. We oppose this kind of political arm twisting from corporate bought public officials, including POTUS. Think about the positive news coverage Columbia would have received, especially in the non-mainstream media, where young people hang out. Columbia would have become a beacon of light, a model, a leader. Instead they chose cowardice and moral-lessness, for what is to the institution, and relatively modest amount of money.
Hey Anand and everyone else: have you all heard about Timothy Snyder and Jason Stanley, the experts in authoritarianism at Yale have moved out of the USA and are now working out of Canada because of the full frontal assault on our leading academic institutions and students/faculty??? Wonder what you make of this news Anand and fellow members of The Ink.com community???? 😳😱😢

I second Madeline’s comments.

This was a great conversation- even as a resident of Somerville, MA. Go Zohran Go!!
Zohran is a vital voice in the New Blue movement… big vision, bold action. He’s exactly what we need. Appreciate this smart and inspiring young man!
For Andrew Cuomo wins, I would be very afraid for the women who work in that City Hall!!

Wow! Makes me want to live in NYC! Thank you for having Zohran on! He's so thoughtful, yet quick on his feet and joyful too!
C U canceled free expression to save 400million. Is that all the 1st Amendment is worth—400million?
