Wow, what a fantastic interview. I like her three "hooks" for articulating our basic demands: 1) Public safety, 2) Social Security, and 3) Due process. Let's all drop our party hats and march with this woman to a democracy we can believe in.

Strike! Please don't give Trump so much credit for the current regime and its actiion. There are a whole lot of other actors and voters behind him. He really can't do this alone!

Agree 100%. He has been supported by a motley crew of bad actors and so-called normals, too.

She is awesome! A Countrywide strike/work stoppage is doable but it is an enormous task for everyone. If I heard her correctly, she used this verbiage pertaining to her Unions members only. Strike clauses differ from contract to contract. I think the first thing that needs to happen is someone needs to take the lead. The question is who? Remember what Robert Reich said. Union density is 6.3 % of the workforce. For a Nationwide shutdown, the Leaders of the 6.3%’s Union Presidents will have to agree to a strategic plan. Once that happens, a Nationwide Strategic Plan needs to be drafted. Please keep in mind the non union workforce has to be included. Mobilizing Union members is difficult enough, I would imagine there would be much difficulty identifying non union industries and workers. Nevertheless, it is possible. I would hope that the first course of action would be to join hands with “Indivisible” Leaders. As we read in Anand’s book Persuasion, there are so many different emotions and experiences that need to be addressed and dealt with prior to any decisions are made.

My point here is, it’s easy for us to say “Let’s do it” and it can be done. However, it has to be planned and meaningful.

I wonder about health care professionals. Laboratorians, radiology techs, etc. Seems like we are morally bound to take care of patients but interested to hear others' thoughts...

This was a fantastic program with Sara Nelson. Sara’s 3 demands (3 things to strike about and for dems to advance advocate for): 1) public safety (I’d suggest expand to health and safety); 2) social security and 3) due process are great framing.

She is and was awesome. So right on. For those of us who have been around for a while, we know this trouble with BOTH parties has been brewing since the early 1980s. Yes to a general strike NOW and yes to the demands. Like her, find myself crying nearly every day. These disappearances and the detentions are just too much. Thanks to you and her for the interview.
