You are doing a brilliant job publicizing the book, talking about it in ways that make it irresistible even to the most reluctant. Few writers are capable of this. You are meeting the moment in the most challenging of media times. Thank goodness, because everyone needs to read this book!

That was beautifully worded. Thank you for never being afraid of doing what you truly believe. So proud of you! Your book has allowed me to view the world around me through a different lens. That is the magic of your book and your poetic words.

Debuting at #11 on the NYT bestseller list shows you have written a book people DO want to read. Thank God! So many of us want moral complexity, to see from other people's perspectives, to like people we don't agree with. I've been practicing that for much of life, and it feels wonderful to have others do the same. Congratulations, and thank you!

I'll echo the congratulations. The writing in Man in the Mirror is sharp, incisive, and deeply observant.

I was at the Town Hall Seattle event and I so appreciated the deep dive on empathy! It gave me hope for dealing with this divided nation, one person at a time.

I was there last night in Seattle! It's so good to see one of my favorite authors in real life!

Though I haven't yet pulled it together enough to buy the book, I know from listening to excerpts and reviews that it is a book that can help get us out of the present mess.

Again…like Melville…you are tuned in to the pulse quickening in America…not in fear any more…but in anticipation of something REAL.

Your voice represents ‘this time’ as the poetry about the Civil War needed to be written and read. It wasn’t easy to take such wrenching angst into the consciousness of those war weary Americans, but, it had to be done.

Here we are AGAIN…with another ‘white whale’ (NPI) questioning the actions of disrupters like ICE. Clinging to sanity and hoping for relief.

Literature is its own weapon and echo. Meeting the villains of TODAY, with the clarity you have brought…a gift.

Many well-deserved accolades, as your star RISES.

Congratulations!!!! Yes. Let’s write ourselves out of this culture. Let’s talk ourselves out of it. Let’s hug ourselves out of it. Let’s march and protest ourselves out of it. And more than anything let’s VOTE ourselves out of it.

Can’t wait to read both your and Priya‘s books.

💃🏼🎉
