THE GIST: What do the oligarchs think of us?
Last week, Elon Musk’s A.I. assistant, Grok, erupted in an explosion of fawning praise for its master. When asked by X users to compare Musk to the most celebrated figures in human history, the chatbot inevitably told users Musk would, of course, come out on top. He was, according to the “truth-seeking” A.I., fitter than LeBron James, smarter than da Vinci, more compassionate than Jesus.
Not that anyone should have any faith in chatbots. But one exchange was particularly telling.
