And yesterday, 9 republicans stood up to Mike Johnson’s parliamentary manipulations on allowing proxy voting for new parents. They joined the democrats and one of the leaders resigned from the freedom caucus.

As a Floridian, I feel so defeated today. I am trying to find solace in the Wisconsin win and the way the Democratic contenders narrowed the gap. I do wonder if the Dems could have spent a little more money and effort down here. Sometimes I think we are so reliably red, they don’t worry very much. The good news is, there’s a protest Saturday, and I am ready with a sign, a T-shirt and a few friends!

Saw this take on Jonathan Larsen’s TFN substack and liked the picture! It also means that every vulnerable House Republican in the country will view every House vote between now and the 2026 elections through a cheese-colored lens. Also saw a great meme posted (by Yosef52) showing a block of cheese crushing a cyber truck (wizard of oz allusion?!), but can’t figure out how to post. I have hope in American transgressive humor/ridicule

The tide is turning. ICE also must be held to account. Are they Trump’s private militia? The Venezuelans in prison in El Salvador need to be rescued!!

I read that France has in essence disowned musk and his car regime. I hope it’s true.

As much as I would like to, I don’t think one can draw conclusions about Democrats in FL narrowing the gap since November, given that historically Democrats do much better in special elections than in presidential ones.

How much do you want to bet that Musk stops payment on that check?

I never thought I would say “Thank You” and “Elon Musk” in the same sentence.

I also never thought I could say money and bull shit walked together. Thank you Wisconsin for leading the way. 💪❤️

Due process & other constitutional protections only protect right wing fraudsters, grifters & domestic terrorists? National injunctions against Dem presidents are just fine, while national injunctions against Trump are impeachable? Only right wing "comedy" is legal?

I sent this to Senator McCormick of PA:

I hope the election in Wisconsin illustrates how universally despised Elon Musk and his DOGE gaggle of geeks are. The self-described richest man in the world literally throwing around money to the peon American voters demonstrates how elitist , totally disrespectful and out of touch he is. Mr. Trump, having his Secretary of the Treasury on Fox hawking Tesla $30, 000 robots and stating granny missing one social security check would be no big deal and both he and Musk claiming only fraudsters would complain, display lack of any sense of what life is like if you should happen to not be a billionaire!

And you Senator McCormick, a West point grad and proud servicemen, not stomping your veteran feet at the total stupidity of the secretary of defense is well, indefensible.

I urge you to stand up for those Pennsylvanians who actually do pay taxes on incomes less than several million dollars and need and use service such as libraries, food banks and national forests!
