Retired communication and journalism prof here. Your show with Anat yesterday was one of the best discussions I’ve seen/heard in recent memory that actually helps people meet this moment. Thank you, more please!
Thank you for the playlist, your wise words and intelligent guests. I am a child of the 60s who marched against Vietnam and applauded Woodward and Bernstein as they took down an evil President. For decades, America has been too complacent. We woke up too late but it’s encouraging to see people willing to fight. We can’t be scared or they will win. We all need to be Cory Bookers in a way that makes us just a tad uncomfortable. Thanks again for not being afraid to tell the truth.
So love and appreciate your conversations with Anat - I take the thoughts and thinking to our sign waving, march, rally and planning committee in our town of Issaquah, WA - we are set to go tomorrow for the biggest rally in this Indivisible group’s history - we have 430 registered. I am excited and hopeful that joining together like this all over the country will create a momentum of action unlike this country has seen in many years. Making Good Trouble for the benefit of Freeing America and protecting all of us in our individual vulnerabilities.
I grew up hiking the Issaquah Alps! I'll be protesting with my husband in the burbs of DC because we live out here now. But please, please shout it out proudly with your fabulous Pacific Northwest group! HAVE FUN! Make some good trouble. 😉
Just want to let everyone know about a protest and social justice music concert-The Revolution Sings is, a benefit for the ACLU on Friday April 18th from 7:00-9:30 PM at the Five Sparks Art Center, 7 Fairbanks Street, in Harvard Mass. The Revolution Sings concert is being produced by Musicians for the Greater Good, a non-profit network of musicians that supports social change organizations. It will feature award-winning singer-songwriters from New England. Tickets for $20.00 to the live show are available at The RevolutionSings.Eventbrite.Com and at the door. The Live Stream will be available starting at 7:00 PM Friday the 18th at https://tinyurl.com/3ddjr6fx.
Wishing everyone a safe and beautiful experience tomorrow. Whether it’s your first time protesting or you’ve done this before does not matter. What matters is why we are standing up and speaking our truth together in solidarity. (A “stupid coup” has illegally taken over our beloved Country!!! Hands off our democracy!!!
Thank you Anand for your guidance and leadership in this moment of distress and civil discourse.
Anand, you recently quoted a philosopher as having said "Anything can happen, but nothing can be done." The quote stuck with me, but I can't recall who said it. A reminder, please?
My obviously hand-made-without-adult-supervision sign for the 4/5 rally: "Hands Off DEI"
Soulful, resonant, meditation on loss, and encouraging us to move forward without our treasured friends, freedoms, safety intact.
We need, imho, to be in the moment we are in fully aware, with eyes and hearts open — clear eyes, full heart — mourning our losses, celebrating what we have known, pre trump’s FU America Tour/Rampage, going forward, hand in hand, together as one.
PS My hunch is his natural disdain for America, the American people who he sees as pawns for him to use, flatter, deceive, and betray, our laws and Constitution, coupled with his grievance at voters for rejecting him in 2020, motivates, and in his mind, entitles him to this smash, smash, smash and grab, without giving a fig and delighting in harm inflicted on our country and our people and the world.
He treats America like he has his wives, appreciating their beauty and the cache they offer him while jealous they are being admired as he is reviled for his repugnant character, actions and appearance and punishing America and his wives by making a mockery of them/us, betraying them/us, leveraging trust he has engendered to dominate them/us in an effort to humiliate, terrify, subjugate them/us.
I suggest that a perfect theme song for the hands off and other protests is the Doobie Brothers classic: “Taking It To The Streets.” I pulled up the early version on YouTube and felt inspired.
I’m writing as a longtime viewer and concerned member of the community to express my deep disappointment with your coverage of the recent protests in [City/Date]. The way this event was portrayed on your broadcast was not only misleading—it actively distorted the scale and significance of what took place.
Specifically:
• The number of demonstrators was severely underreported, despite ample video and eyewitness documentation showing much larger crowds.
• Disproportionate airtime was given to counter-protesters, creating a false impression of equal public support on both sides.
• Most troubling, actions by public officials that raise serious legal and moral questions were described using routine or neutral language—effectively normalizing behavior that should concern every American, regardless of political affiliation.
Local news plays a powerful role in shaping public understanding. I know many in our community, especially older residents, rely on your station as a trusted source. That trust carries a responsibility to report fully and accurately—not selectively or in a way that reinforces a pre-scripted narrative.
We are living in a time when democratic norms are under increasing pressure. Glossing over or sanitizing that reality isn’t just a missed opportunity—it’s a disservice to your viewers and to the role of journalism itself.
I urge you to review your editorial practices and consider how your station can better reflect the full truth of what is happening in our communities.

Have a wonderful time making Good Trouble today. The Issaquah Alps are shining as the sun rises here on what is to be a 70degree day.
Looks like we had at least 1,000 in Issaquah.
Has anyone made this playlist in Apple music as well?

Revolting to witness. Repulsive.
The horror. The horror.

We had approximately 750 people at our Hands Off rally today in Lisboa Portugal with only a week to get the word out.
Good show on and loved your comments on Morning Joe!
Your playlist is wonderful! Thanks for the tips and especially the music!
Don't know about fight songs or anthems, but Putin's Boy's motto is clear now: Make America Go Away!!!
