I pre-orderded a couple of weeks ago. After seeing you read your column yesterday, I am really looking forward to reading Man in the Mirror. What I found additionally instructive yesterday, and what resonated with me was your commitment to the sound, the rhythm of your writing. Never heard anyone but a poet talk of that - but I edit everything for sound and I am not a writer. And your thoughts on RHYME - brilliant. What a way to think through communication from multiple sides, angles, and viewpoints. [One troubling - less important!- item: I couldn't find the link to send out yesterday's substack reading. I am not especially skilled at anything internet-related but could you find someone as unfamiliar as I am and test things out so that "the willing but un-tech-savvy" can know what to do. (Don't spend too much time on this, your thinking, writing and interviewing is what's really valuable to me! - And eventually, I'll find someone who can show me how to do it.)
Am constantly inspired by your writing and interviews - I go first to your substack when I'm having a tough day in this tough world we're in. TY!

I preordered several weeks ago (to get an autographed copy!). If I wasn’t caretaking for an elderly relative and dog with dementia I would drive to St Louis to see you. Good for you doing a free library based event there. I used to live there and will encourage several readers I know there to get your book and attend. I anticipate a deeply emotional read because the subject matter hits close to home (mental illness, homelessness, family frustration). I applaud your personal transformation by paying attention to this very complex story, and getting others to understand the humanity, the connections, the rhymes. Hopefully we will evolve better solutions here in the US more akin to other countries where social belonging, safety/rest and nutrition, not merely drugs, are the comprehensive solution. Imagine if our best and brightest took on this problem rather than becoming experts in financial scamming, or building weapons.

Dear Anand, I preordered two copies of Man in the Mirror as soon as you announced the availability! Signed copies I might add. Why? Because your writing emanates the logic of the heart - a rarity in my experience. And it certainly was magnetic enough back in 2019? to push me to overcome my aversion to new apps and get a paid subscription to your substack. I have no others … that says something!🤓 your book will reveal much no doubt. And wake up a lot of people. More than that I am hoping your piercing writing will also open avenues into new action for us all. And ignite completely new ways of seeing each of our own roles and power to change everything! First of all by NOT abandoning our selves - not leaving our selves (our responsibility) out of the equation. And then making difference choices one moment at a time! Personally I’m hoping to find clear, simple, and accessible ways to connect my work more directly to yours. To me there exists a seemingly insurmountable chasm. Between the reality we experience living in the material world, through the media and education and the struggle of everyday life. And the equally present and more complete reality of living as who we truly are - the energy of Love in human form - which includes the living material world. I am hoping Man in the Mirror will reveal a new avenue in for me! Will I discover a connection point? A bridge? A wormhole? To introduce into the equation - more powerfully than I have thus far been able - the notion of each of us as the infinite power of unconditional LOVE in form? I agree with your theory of rhyming. I have noticed a common denominator of fear in the rhymes. I can usually point to a fear of losing something I have, or a fear of not getting something I think I want or need.
