That was great. I loved that you just brought listeners into the conversation. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Callers on radio shows (now YouTube shows and the like) have been around for decades but not a live talk like yours. All you have to do is get your tech sorted out so that you can easily invite people in. As for your question, read (or reread) “The Ugly American.” The answer is in that book, published in 1958. It’s about American foreign policy in Asia, but is applicable for what is happening in this country today, as well. I just reread it myself and was both saddened that things have not changed much, and hopeful (to use your word) that there are solutions.
Question: who will put the brakes on the hate groups now? I fully expect conspicuous formations of groups such as Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Boogaloo Boys, Three Percenters, KKK, and probably others at Trump's inauguration ceremony, all proudly standing and giving the Heil Hitler salute. They clearly see Trump's election as a vindication and empowerment of their hateful views. Moreover, they represent a "proto SS (Schutzstaffel)" in waiting. And the US Supreme Court has given Trump immunity to use them in any way he sees fit. Not exactly a cheerful prospect.

Nicely done. Perhaps a next step is breakout sessions.

Looking forward to joining in.
I'll be there
